Goal in life...

So... anyone wanna give an insight on how one goes about setting a goal in life? What constitutes a 'goal'? Something material? Something intangible? Spiritual? Something related to your career or personal life? About how much money you should be making by the time you're 40? That you are married and have 2 kids by the time you're 35?

And how far ahead should this goal be? 5 years? 10 years? 50 years?

Does everyone already know what their goal is? Or are there many people out there still searching for their meaning in life? And if you are, does that mean you're a failure or normal?

It can't be enough to just work day-in-day-out, making lots of money, to buy lots of expensive stuff... What's the point in that? You can't take it with you when you pass on. So what IS important in life? And what if that important thing is passing us by, and we can't seem to grasp it until it's too late?

Maybe that's true. When you have kids, you have something to live for... the aim would be to help them be the best person that they can be. By giving them guidance etc...

That's great and dandy... but what if you DON'T have kids. What is the goal then? :)

the goal is to concentrate on yourself and to be the best that you can be to yourself. only then will things fall into place.

If you DON'T have kids, the goal will be "find someone to have some kids"... Am I right?
