Here's your change...

I don't know if you find this fact I'm about to reveal unnerving, but it baffles me sometimes... but before you wonder what in the world I'm talking about, let me explain...

I was in BreadStory buying some 'energy' food for tomorrow's treasure hunt, and when I went to pay, the cost came up to RM6.80. So I proceeded to take out my wallet and handed her RM50. Then I thought to myself... hmm... instead of getting loose change of RM3.20, I'd much prefer to have a crisp RM5 note. So I started to dig through my wallet and managed to find an extra Rm2 in my wallet. So I handed it over, together with my RM50 to the cashier. The girl just looked at me like I was mad, and shoved the RM2 back at me. I mean... WHAT THE...??

Is it that difficult to do the math for that? All she has to do is key in RM52 into the machine, and it would calculate out the correct change! And I would get the RM5 note I wanted!

Does anyone else get annoyed with that? Or is it only fussy ol' me?!

Yes! It happened TWO DAYS IN A ROW!! This time the cashier couldn't figure out 10 + 3!! She had to call her supervisor to help her key in RM13 into the machine! Wah lau eh!

Take it easy my friend. Just think of it this way, if s/he would have figured it out so easily like you, s/he would not be cashier... and s/he'll take your place isntead. ;p

So, be nice to them, as they are serving you. Imagine there is no one wanted to be cashier... how's the world would be.

Just my 2 cent though. :D

I think we can't expect people to understand what we actually want without asking it clearly. Maybe you should tell her straight away that you want the RM5 note :).

Maybe that's why she's a cashier instead of an actuary?

You won't know if the cashier will be an actuary later. I was also being scolded as 'you're so stupid' while I was a teller :P.

Just wanted to say that never look down on other people to make ourselves feel better.

I never said she was stupid. Just a comment. And I of course did not scold her la. I'm not THAT insensitive!
